Taylor High School
The Titan freshmen came out flat again tonight but were able to grind out a 35-27 win over the Peru Tigers. The Titans had to overcome a ton of turnovers and lack of rebounding to win the game. Peru came out aggressive in the first half and shot the ball very well to forge a 16-16 tie going into the intermission. Taylor played a bit better in the second half with the fourth quarter being the key to the Titan victory as Taylor outscored the Tigers 9 – 3 in the last stanza. Jacob Isaacs led the Titans in scoring with 10 points, Toric Spires added two three pointers for 6 points and Sean Pearce added 5 for Taylor. Owen Farrington and Darien Valencia each chipped in 4 points, Braxton Downs added 3, Alex Kropczynski added 2 points and Jaylen Reece had 1 point. Peru was led in scoring by Mayson Bammerlin with 8 points, Shade Chadwell added 7 points while Brad Ryan chipped in 4 points. Jackson Green and Christopher Dicken each added 3 points and Greyson Spahn completed the Tigers scoring with 2 points. Taylor is now 4-3 on the season with a game at Clinton Central Tuesday night at 6pm.
