Taylor High School
The Taylor Titans JV squad beat Peru Tigers Friday night by a score of 44-40. This is the second win in a row for the Titans and their fourth on the season. The Titans lead most of the game using full court pressure and a solid first half of offense. The Titans came out of the halftime locker room a little slow, only managing to score 2 points in the 3rd quarter. This low scoring quarter allowed the Tigers to tie the game at the end of three. The Titans continued to struggle at the start of the fourth, falling behind by six points. Taylor once again cranked up the pressure with a full court press. The press generated some turnovers that lead to some easy buckets to start the Titans comeback. Caden Sullivan once again paced the Titans with 13 points. He also had seven rebounds. Tyler Hall and Cash Kelley-Smalley had nine points a piece, and Clay Murray added seven points. Hall lead the Titans in rebounds with 14 and Murray grabbed six boards. The win moves the Titans record to 4-10 with six games remaining. Due to the Varsity playing in the conference tournament, the JV squad doesn’t play again until February 2nd. The game will be against Elwood and will tip off at 6:00pm.
