Taylor’s freshmen finished off their season with a win on Monday night at Center Court by beating the Comets of Eastern by a score of 39-26. The Titan freshmen opened up a game that was close through 3 quarters by playing a solid fourth quarter, by hitting free throws down the stretch and by playing aggressive defense that only allowed the Comets to score 4 points in the final stanza. The Titans put almost everyone in the scoring column as they were led by Jacob Isaacs with 9 points (including 3 of 6 on free throws). Owen Farrington had 7 points (2 for 2 on free throws), Darien Valencia also had 7 points, Toric Spires had 5 points (2 for 2 on free throws) and Jaylin Reece added 4 points (4 for 8 on free throws). Completing the scoring for Taylor was Alex Kropczynski with 2 points (2 for 2 on free throws), Cory Madison and Karleion Blackburn each with two points and Sean Pearce with 1 point. Braxton Downs did not score for the Titans but led the team with 13 rebounds and 4 steals in a outstanding, pivotable performance. For the night, Taylor finished with their best free throw shooting night of the season as they hit 14 for 24 as a team. Eastern was led in scoring by Kiah Smiley with 7 points, Jared Melton and Mason France with 5 points each and Chris Hyman with 3 points. The Comet scoring was completed by Parker Sullivan, Jacob Powell and Quinton Walker with 2 points each. The Titans finish their season with a 6-9 record.
