The Taylor girls track and field team hosted Clinton Central on Tuesday evening. The Lady Titans won the meet by a score of 68-58. Alison Pemberton was a quadruple winner for the Titans. Pemberton won the high jump with a jump of 5′, the long jump with a jump of 15’6.5″, the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.85, and she lead off the winning 400 meter relay team which ran 53.25. Brooke Morris was a triple winner. She won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.49, the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.48, and anchored the 400 relay team. The other members of the 400 relay team were Austyn Huffer and Ayden Richter. Richter had performed well picking up second place in the shot put, 100, and 200. Huffer also finished second in the high jump. Kelsey Alexander won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 56.91 and finished second in the 100 hurdles. Kiara Miller won the Discus with a throw of 60′ 2″.
I am really happy for our girls tonight. We had a great team effort to win the meet tonight. Several girls who don’t ordinarily score were able to pick up points to help the team win. We have had a lot of individual success this season , but tonight was the first time we won as a team. That’s a great feeling for all of the girls.
