Taylor beat Clinton Central 5-2 behind a good pitching preformance by Jaylen Harris, and a big first inning at the plate. Jaylen Harris pitched all 7 innings and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, 4BB’s, & 7K’s. At the plate, an Owen Farrington started the scoring in the 1st inning with a 2-RBI double, after a Nathan Keene single, and a Clay Brubaker walk. Karleion Blackburn plated a run with a RBI fielders choice. Kendall Lanning was 3-4 with a 1B, 2B, 3B. Coach Dill said, “Once again Jaylen Harris had a great performance on the mound and the offense was able to give Jaylen some room to breathe when he went out for the bottom of the 1st. I thought Jaylen had to throw a few more pitches than he normally does, but he was able to pitch through some adversity, and that was good to see. He also fielded his postion well tonight, and helped his own cause defensively. Jaylen is now 3-1 in conference, and he has accounted for all our conference wins. Its nice to see him have success. It also nice to get a win. The guys keep going to work, and when you have a record of 6-13 it would easy to just show up, but they don’t do that. They have chosen to care, fight, and work to be better. When you invest in anything there will be let downs, but in that process you develop some grit, and you will also see success” The Titans are back in action Thursday at Northwestern at 6pm.
