The Taylor freshmen traveled across town to participate in the always tough Kokomo tourney on Saturday morning. In game 1, the Titans squared off against the Kokomo Wildkats and came out on the losing end by a score of 49-28. The Titans grabbed the lead early in the game but a sour second quarter where they were outscored 15-3 allowed the Wildkats to go into halftime with a 26-10 lead. Kokomo never looked back eventually stretching the lead to the final 21 point margin in the third quarter and then coasted to victory from there. Taylor was led in scoring by Josh Bowman who had a strong all-around game and scored 11 points. Cory Madison, Tymon Davis and Nathan Keene each scored 4 points while Karleion Blackburn and Conner Hight each added 2 points. Truman Howerton completed the Titan scoring with a free throw for his 1 point in the game. Kokomo was led by Torian Smith with 10 points. Jon Callane and Drew Swain each added 8 points while Noah Smalley and Oglesby each chipped in 6 points. Noa Wainscott and Jacob Finley each added 4 points and Rajon Sellers completed the Kokomo scoring with 3 points. By virtue of the loss, Taylor’s record fell to 6-4 and they earned a spot in the consolation game versus Logansport.
