The Taylor Titans JV squad hosted the Carroll Cougars Saturday night for Senior Night and the last home game of the season. The Titans came out and dominated from the start. They had a slow start on the offensive end but the defense came to play, holding the Cougars to one field goal in the first half. Seven of their nine points in the first half came from the free throw line. The Titans really opened up the scoring in the 2nd quarter on their way to a 24-9 lead at the half. The 3rd quarter, which has typically been a bad quarter for the Titans, was their highest scoring quarter of the night. Taylor scored 18 points in that quarter and pulled even further away on their way to a 50-24 victory. Toric Spires led the Titans in points and rebounds with 15 and seven respectively. Jameel Mann came off of the bench and had a solid night, scoring nine points and grabbing five boards. Jayden Davis scored seven points, grabbed five boards, and had four steals, and Drew Smith added six points. The win moves the Titans record to 8-11 on the season. The JV squad finished 7-1 versus conference opponents. Their next game is Tuesday night at Maconaquah. JV tip off is at 6:00 pm.
