The Taylor Titans made the short trip to Eastern Tuesday night for a conference match-up with the Comets. The JV squad came out and had a solid 1st quarter in building a five point lead. They built on that lead through the 2nd, using four assists to help push the lead to 10 at the half time break. Coming out of the locker room at the half, the Titans and Comets played pretty even with the Titans outscoring the home squad by one to push the lead to 11 going into the final quarter. The Titans got big 3’s from Braxton Downs and Jaylin Reece after the Comets had cut the lead to 6 with about three minutes to play. The visitors were able to ice the game at the free throw line, going 6-8 in the final quarter. Drew Smith stepped to the line twice and knocked down both the front end and back end of 1 and 1’s each time. Jayden Davis paced the Titans in scoring and rebounding with 11 points and four boards. Downs and Smith each added six points and Jaylen Harris had five points. The win runs the Titans record to 4-9 on the season. Their next game is Thursday night at Elwood. JV tip off is at 6:00 pm.
