The Tigers out score the Titans by ten in the 3rd quarter to give them a nine point lead heading into the final quarter. Taylor cut the lead to one with just over a minute to play but Northwestern was able to take a three point lead into the final 30 seconds. With about 25 seconds left, Toric Spires buried a three from the left wing to tie the game. Darrian Valencia got a steal as time was winding down and was able to get a shot off, but it was off the mark and the game went into overtime. In the overtime, the game was back and forth with neither team building more than a 2-3 point lead. The last minute was a one point game the whole time. The Tigers took a 48-47 lead with 7.8 seconds left forcing the Titans to call a time out to set up a last play. Spires again came through in the clutch going coast to coast to hit the game winning lay-up with 0.6 seconds left. Northwestern’s desperation shot missed and the Titans held on for the win. Spires paced the Titans with 13 points, most of which came in the 2nd half and overtime. Darrian Valencia added nine points and three steals.
