The Titans JV squad came our “Red Hot” against the visiting Alexandria Tigers Tuesday night, shooting lights out in the 1st quarter. They shot 62% from the floor in that first quarter and were 4 out of 5 from the three point line. They ended the half still shooting right at 50% for the game on their way to building an 11 point lead. The shooting stayed around 50% throughout the second half as well, but the shots were few and far between. The Titans shot 7 for 13 in the second half but were stifled by the 1-3-1 zone the Tigers came out in defensively in the 2nd half. The Titans entered the 4th quarter with a six point lead but couldn’t hold it. They were outscored 20-8 in the final quarter as the Tigers were able to pull away for the six point victory. Toric Spires led the Titans in scoring with 19 points and he tied for the team lead in rebounds with five. Drew Smith had his best offensive performance of the season scoring ten points and dishing out 3 assists. Darrian Valencia and Damarion Brent each added eight points. Braxton Downs had a solid night on the boards as well, grabbing five boards. The loss drops the Titans to 2-4 on the season. Their next game is Tuesday, December 19th at Rochester. JV tip time is 6:00 pm.
