The Taylor Titans JV squad lost a tough, hard fought game last Friday night at Clinton Prairie. The Titans played one of their best halves of the season in the first half of the game. They went into the half time locker room up by 13. The Gophers came out hot from behind the arc to start the 3rd quarter. A triple and a traditional three point play cut the Titan lead to seven just under a minute into the half. The teams traded baskets on a couple of possessions but the Titans were only hitting 2’s and the home team hit two more 3’s. The Titans entered the final quarter clinging to a four point lead but couldn’t hold it as the offense got stagnant and the Titans couldn’t hit any shots. Jaylen Harris led the Titans in scoring with 12 points. Drew Smith added nine points, going 3-4 from behind the arc. Clay Brubaker had six points and Jaylin Reece added five. Jayden Davis led the team with five rebounds while Brubaker grabbed four. The loss drops the Titans to 6-11 on the season. Their next game is Friday night at home versus Rossville. JV tip off is at 6:00 pm.
