The Titans JV squad came up just short in a hard fought game at Lewis Cass Saturday night. The game was close throughout with the largest lead for Cass being 8 points early in the contest. They lead by seven to start the 4th quarter. Missed free throws doomed the Titans as they went 12-22 from the charity stripe. In a close game like this, making even half of the free throws that were missed can be huge. The Titans had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead and just could not get the shot to fall. Toric Spires had a good look from the 3 point line and the shot just rimmed out. Alex Kropczynski lead the Titans with a double-double, scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Seven of those boards were on the offensive glass. Spires and Darrian Valencia had seven points a piece and Jaylen Harris added six points. For the 2nd game in a row, nine of the 10 Titans who saw playing time scored and the Titans had 10 assists on 14 made baskets. They played some great team basketball Saturday night. The loss drops the Titans to 0-2 on the season with their next game coming Friday night at home versus Tri Central. JV tip is at 6:00.
