The Taylor Titans JV squad traveled to Maconaquah Tuesday night to face the Brave. The Titans came out of the gate slow and quickly found themselves in a 13-2 hole. Taylor was slow on it’s defensive rotations and wasn’t getting good looks offensively. That led to a nine point deficit after one quarter and a 10 point deficit at the half. The Titans bench shortened up in the second half due to players splitting time with varsity and another not playing at all. This combination did not bode well for the visitors as the Braves were able to extend their lead. The Titans pulled to within eight with about four minutes to go in the 3rd quarter but Maconaquah wore them down and finished the game shooting 6 for 7 in the final quarter. The Titans had a very balanced night in the scoring column. Jameel Mann led the Titans with eight points. He also had three rebounds. Braxton Downs, Jaylen Harris, and Jaylin Reece each added seven points, and Alex Kropczynski and Darrian Valencia had six points a piece. Reece led all Titans with six rebounds while Downs and Clay Brubaker each grabbed three boards. The loss drops the Titans record to 8-12 on the season. The JV squad closes out their season Thursday night at MIssissinewa. JV tip is at 6:00 pm.
