The Taylor Titans JV squad pounced on the visiting Peru Tigers early in the first half of their game Friday night. The Titans played a solid 1st quarter and built a four point lead going into the 2nd. The lead extended to nine at the end of the half and could have been more if not for a couple of turnovers and quick shots. The 2nd half was a different story. The Titans struggled to put the ball in the hoop but still managed to hold a two point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Titans were out scored by 12 in the final quarter leading to the 10 point defeat. Taylor was a little short-handed in the game with 2 players missing the game due to sickness/injury. The Tigers were also very aggressive on the glass. They had 18 offensive rebounds which led to several 2nd chance points. Damarion Brent came off of the bench and led the Titans in scoring with 10 points. Freshman Jayden Davis earned his 1st start of the season and played very well. He added seven points and seven rebounds, which were a team high. Alex Kropczynski and Jaylen Harris each added six points a piece. Kropczynski also had 4 rebounds. The loss drops the Titans to 2-8 on the season. Their next game is Friday night at Sheridan. JV tip is at 6:00 pm.
