The Taylor Titans traveled to Rochester Tuesday night for their last basketball game before Christmas Break. The JV squad got off to a slow start, only scoring 7 points in the 1st quarter. They came out better in the 2nd quarter, scoring 18, but also giving up 16 points to close the half with a five point deficit. The Titans came out of the locker room and took some control in the game and outscored the home squad by six to take a one point lead into the final quarter. The 4th quarter was tight throughout with neither team getting out to more than a four point lead. The Titans had a couple of mistakes at critical times late in the game that led to the Zebras being able to hold on for the five point win.

Sophomore Damarion Brent had a solid night for the Titans, scoring 11 points and grabbing six rebounds. Four of those boards were on the offensive glass. Brent also had 2 assists. Freshman Jaylen Harris came off of the bench and added 11 points. He had two rebounds and two assists. Juniors Darrian Valencia and Drew Smith rounded out the leading scoring for the Titans with eight and six points respectively. Alex Kropczynski tied for the team lead in rebounds with six. The loss drops the Titans to 2-5. They will be on break for Christmas for a few days and then comeback on the 26th to prepare for their next game at Lapel. JV tip off will be at 6:00 pm.
