The Taylor Titans JV squad had three weeks of rust to shake off in their first game back since before New Years due to weather postponements. The rust was evident in the fact that the Titans did not start the game well at all. Their defense was very shaky and they couldn’t get anything going on offense on the way to a 17 point deficit at the end of the 1st quarter. They did respond well in the 2nd, cutting the lead to nine before going into the half time down 11. They 2nd half was much of the same as the Titans turned the ball over and gave up too many offensive rebounds. The Titans were led in scoring by Toric Spires who had 11 points. Drew Smith and Jaylin Reece each added five points. Alex Kropczynski and Braxton Downs led the Titans in rebounding with four a piece and Smith, Reece, and Jayden Davis each had three boards. Smith rounded out an overall good game with a team high three assists. The loss drops the Titans record to 2-7. Their next game is Friday night at home against Peru. It is Hardcourt Homecoming and JV tip is at 6:00 pm.
