The Titans Boys soccer team traveled to Delphi Saturday for a 12:30 kickoff with the Oracles. Taylor started the game off well, getting some possession in the final 3rd and having a chance or two to score within the 1st 15 minutes. They just couldn’t seem to get a good enough touch to free the ball up. Delphi took advantage of a misplayed ball, took it down the field and set up the first score of the game about 10 minutes in. The game went back and forth from then on. With five minutes to go, the score was still 1-0, when a defensive break down by the Titans led to a second goal for the home team. Not more than 30 seconds later, a handball in the box lead to a penalty kick for Delphi, which they converted. They added another with under 2 minutes to go in the half to end their scoring at 4. That five minute span proved costly for the Titans as they never were able to even the score. Junior Josh Bowman did get the Titans on the score board with about five minutes to go in the 2nd half after more back and forth action between the two teams. Jaylin Reece took a corner and drove it into the box where the ball found Bowman’s foot and he rolled in home for the Titans first goal of the season. Reece was credited with the assist. Truman Howerton had 17 saves for the Titans in goal. The loss drops the Titans to 0-5. Their next game is Tuesday night at Eastern.
