The Taylor Titans boys soccer team played their 3rd game in three nights Wednesday night when Rossville came to town for a conference match. The Titans played well to start the game despite being down a man. One of the Titans was injured in the first minute of the game and did not return. Rossville opened the scoring with about 15 minutes left in the 1st half. They got a second less than two minutes later to round out the first half scoring. Taylor came out playing a little better in the 2nd half, getting better touches on the ball and making some good runs forward. Around 15 minutes into the 2nd half, senior Noah Merrell sent a ball through the Hornets back line. Fellow senior Sivert Karlsen ran on the end of it and scored to get the Titans on the board. About five minutes later, Karlsen sent a cross into the box that junior Josh Bowman finished off for his third goal of the season. That goal tied the game at 2-2 with around 22 minutes remaining in the game. Rossville retook the lead about a minute and a half later on a penalty kick for a handball in the box. They scored two more late in the half to finish of the scoring at 5-2. The loss drops the Titans to 0-9 (0-4 Conference) on the season. Their next game is Saturday morning at home versus Eastbrook.
