Playing seven on 11 the entire game, the Taylor Titans took the field for their first game of the season Thursday night. The Titans battled hard all night long and did some good things on the field. The difference in numbers proved to be too much though as they fell 6-2 to the visiting Maconaquah Braves. Coach Wiley was very proud of the effort that all seven of the boys put out. “They gave me everything they had and left it all on the field”, Wiley said. The Titans fought all night through the physical play of the game and cramping.
Jaylin Reece scored on a penalty kick in the first half after being fouled in the box on a great run up the field from the back line. Senior captain Joe Chasteen scored his first career goal for the Titans on an absolute laser off of his right foot from about 30 yards out. Brett Baer went the whole way in goal for Taylor and had 13 saves on the night. The loss drops the Titans to 0-1 on the season. Their next game is Thursday , August 23rd at Oak Hill. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30.
