The Taylor Titans boys soccer team took the field on Tuesday night for a conference match against the visiting Eastern Comets. With the Titans still playing short-handed, the Comets dropped down to only nine players on the field. It was a good show of sportsmanship from the visitors. Eastern used great ball control and passing to set up several scoring chances early in the game and kept the pressure up throughout the entire game. The Titans suffered their first major injury of the season, lossing one of their guys to a concussion. Brett Baer started in goal for Taylor and had 11 saves. Truman Howerton also got some time in goal and had eight saves. Joe Chasteen blocked two “would be” goals as well. The loss drops the Titans to 0-6. Their next game is Thursday night at 7:00 against the Carroll Cougars. This will also be the Titans Taylor Soccer Club night. Members of the Taylor Youth Soccer League are invited to the game to help with pregame introductions.
