The Taylor Titans Boys Soccer Team traveled to Peru Monday night for a game against the host Tigers. Starting the game with nine players, The Titans started fairly strong and the game went back and forth. Taylor gave up a “cheap” goal about 7 minutes into the game and the Tigers never lost the lead. They went up 2-0 before the Titans found the back of the net. Joe Chasteen drove the ball deep to the touch line and sent a ball across the middle. Brett Baer got on the end of it and buried it in the back of the net to cut the lead to one. Late in the first half, the Titans gave up another “cheap” goal and ended the half down 3-1. The second half was much like the first with both teams getting some possession and making pushes to the goal. The Tigers scored mid way through the half and the Titans got their second tally with about 10 minutes to go. Cole Boruff intercepted a pass and dribble into the box and got and ripped a shot past the keeper. Truman Howerton played the entire game in goal and had 8 saves. The loss drops the Titans to 1-9.
