The Taylor Titans boys soccer season came to an end Monday night when they fell to the Tri Central Trojans in the opening round of Sectionals. The Titans got on the board early with a rebound goal from senior Brett Baer. Joe Chasteen got into the box and shot, the keeper saved and deflected the shot which fell right to Baer who slotted the ball into the left corner for the opening score. The Trojans equalized about three minutes later to tie the score at 1-1. The game went back and forth for much of the 1st half. Senior Clay Murray put the Titans back up by a goal with about six minutes to go in the half. Again, it was a rebound and scramble for the ball that led to the goal. The Titans led 2-1 starting the 2nd half but Tri Central tied the game about a minute and a half into the 2nd. Taylor had several good scoring chances throughout the 2nd half but just couldn’t get one into the net. The game went to overtime and the Trojans scored with about one minute to play in the 1st overtime session. Taylor again has some good scoring chances but were just unlucky in getting a good finish. The loss moved the final season record to 1-12.
