Tuesday was Senior Night for the Titans Boys Soccer team and Taylor sent their seniors out in style. They beat conference rival Tri Central 5-1 for their first win of the season. The entire Titans team played probably their best game of the season. The controlled the flow of the game, got to all of the 50/50 balls and dominated possession on their way to victory. The back line of Owen Shimer, Jaylin Reece, and Cole Boruff made things difficult for the Trojan forwards all evening. Keegan Alexander and Brody Ireland controlled the midfield and Truman Howerton started in goal and played a great game. He had 10 saves on the night. The offense was sparked by the three seniors. Brett Baer opened up the scoring with a goal late in the 1st half. He got on the end of a cross from Boruff to put the Titans on top. Boruff recorded the assist. Taylor led 1-0 at the half. Joe Chasteen opened up the scoring in the 2nd half when he broke free from his defender and buried the ball in the back of the net just four minutes in. Chasteen got his 2nd goal four minutes later. Clay Murray rounded out the scoring with a pair of goals at the 13 and 19 minute marks of the 2nd half. Murray’s first goal was the first of his career. The win moves the Titans to 1-8 on the season. Their next game is Monday night at Peru. The game starts at 5:30.
