The Titans lost to Logansport last night 10-0 in 6 innings. Jaylen Harris got the start and went 4 innings, giving up 7 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Jaylen pitched well, but had a couple of errors behind him that led to a crooked number being put up in the 3rd inning by Logansport. Taylor was never able to recover from that 3rd inning let down. Nathan Keene came on in relief and had a 1,2,3 inning in the 5th. At the plate, the Titans put the ball in play but could not find in holes sin the Berries defense. Clay Brubaker was unlucky twice at the plate, but had two good at bats. The Berries had a perfect game going into the 6th inning, however Eli Harris broke that up with his first varsity hit to center field. Coach Dill pointed out that the guys have to do a better job with knowing situations, and that experience is the only way to get better at that. He also noted that the pitching staff cut down on walks like we’ve been preaching them to do, and at the plate the boys cut down on their strikeouts. He said that they still need to have better approaches at the plate , and understand how to use all parts of the field. He felt the bright spot was the fact that Eli Harris has played well the last week and he embodies what they are trying to do. He competes, he wants the ball, and he is always ready to do whatever it takes to help the team.
Taylor is back in action at home Saturday at 11am vs. Northfield for a double header.
